Alin Wishka is an actor from The Netherlands. He is best known for his lead antagonist role as Santos, a sociopath cyber hacker in the hit crime TV series Moordvrouw (2018). His other known role is that of a Farsi translator for the Dutch military in the international war movie A Good Kill (2016). Special mentions include his lead roles in the Cannes Court Métrage award winning short film POP! (2015) and the short film Refugee (2012). The latter earned him a best-actor nomination.

 

In 2023 he's co-starring in the feature film That Afternoon (2023), also known as 'Die Middag', in which he plays an Iranian-Dutch refugee at the end of his ropes. Die Middag (2023) has been officially selected at Sydney Film Festival (7-16 June 2023), it premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on 28 January and has its theatrical release from 18 May 2023.

Brief history: Alin Wishka immigrated at the age of 10 from Iran to The Netherlands and graduated for his Masters in Film & Media at the University of Amsterdam in 2009. Since his childhood he was fond of the performing arts and at the age of twelve he caught the acting bug when he performed a dual-part as a nosy journalist and an acrobat in an elementary school play.

Next to his university studies, he joined acting intensives at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles and received acting training at different theatre institutions in Amsterdam, in disciplines such as Stanislavski, Method Acting, Theatre Acting, Improvisation and Film Acting.

By now he has more than a decade of experience in film, television, theatre and commercials. Besides acting he also enjoys working behind the camera, telling stories in fiction.
