The Story
Amy feels stuck in her life. Searching for a genuine connection, she finds comfort in someone who seems to have all the right answers. As their bond grows increasingly intimate, it remains uncertain whether this relationship will bring Amy closer to what she is looking for, or further away from it.

Why This Story?
The story grew out of a longstanding fascination with human relationships — particularly romantic relationships, and the many layers, contradictions, and complexities that come with them. Over the years, I found myself exploring these subjects through books, articles, podcasts, and countless conversations about love, intimacy, connection, and the ways people relate to one another. At the same time, the way we form and maintain relationships has changed profoundly. Dating apps, AI, and social media have reshaped how people meet, communicate, seek validation, and experience intimacy. They have introduced new possibilities for connection, while also bringing new questions and challenges. AI MISSED YOU grew from my curiosity about what these changes might mean for human connection. ~Alin Wishka, Writer/Director

Bahareh Borzuee portraits the role of AMY in AI MISSED YOU. Bahareh Borzuee is an Amsterdam-based Persian actress who immigrated from Iran to the Netherlands at the age of nine. With a career spanning over two decades across television, film, theatre, and voice-over projects, she has established a versatile presence both nationally and internationally. Her artistic journey began when she was approached for several high-profile photoshoots; however, she quickly realized a desire to convey stories beyond static, captured snapshots. This passion drove her to master various acting trainings in Amsterdam, including Embodied Acting and the Chubbuck Technique. Committed to the philosophy of lifelong learning, she continuously refines her craft through advanced international training, most recently expanding her global professional network by joining The Actors Home. Bahareh is multilingual, speaking Dutch, English, and Farsi. Her recent credits include roles in the Netflix comedy series Haantjes and the ARD crime series Der Amsterdam Krimi. Furthermore, her short film, Silence Is Full of the Unspoken, made its official premiere at the Dutch Film Festival 2026. For her transforming into each new character is more than a job, it remains a magical journey of discovery. As was her journey portraying the role of AMY in AI MISSED YOU.

AI MISSED YOU is written, directed, filmed, edited and produced by Alin Wishka. Alin Wishka is an international actor, filmmaker based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He emigrated with his family at the age of 9 from Iran to The Netherlands. He graduated for his Bachelor's in Commercial Economics at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in 2005 and for his Masters in Film & Media (Communication Science) at University of Amsterdam in 2009. Since his childhood he was fond of the performing arts and at the age of twelve he caught the acting bug when he performed a dual-part as a nosy journalist and an acrobat in an elementary school play. Next to his university studies, he joined acting intensives at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles and received acting training at different theatre institutions in Amsterdam. By now he has almost two decades of experience in film, television, commercials and theatre. Besides acting he also enjoys working behind the camera, telling stories in fiction. AI MISSED YOU is Alin's Directorial Debut, after having made multiple experimental shorts and filmed on other people's projects in the past. The film would not be possible without his collaborator Bahareh Borzuee.
